In addition to CEE documents, you can search thousands of evaluation studies, market characterizations, and relevant efficiency documents. Submitted by the energy efficiency program administrators who make up CEE, this library represents a repository of materials to benefit all who pursue the cause of energy efficiency.
Principles of Evaluation
The principles offered here were developed through the CEE Evaluation Committee in 2011. It is the Committee’s collective opinion that these principles are important to increase the likelihood that evaluation of energy efficiency programs will be undertaken in a responsible and effective way. The principles are specific to the evaluation of ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs. They are not meant to be comprehensive, and they may need to evolve over time to meet the changing realities of this increasingly dynamic industry.
A recent report by Energy Management Solutions details the major design and specification concerns of roadway lighting and examines the potential for induction and light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires to save energy and money while providing high-quality lighting for motorists and pedestrians. The report includes a 10-step how-to manual for the…
Daylighting control—or daylight harvesting—has become a common energy-saving strategy in sustainable building design. A recent Energy Center of Wisconsin project set out to determine existing levels of success with daylighting control, achieved savings and missed opportunities. The findings demonstrate that successful implementation of automatic daylighting control requires a significant commissioning…
This paper is one of a series of white papers commissioned by the California Public Utilities
Commission (CPUC) to address topics in energy use and behavior. It considers the behavioral
assumptions in energy efficiency potential studies, and options for modifying and supplementing
these assumptions, using recent California energy efficiency potential studies as the…
This report provides a process evaluation of the commercial building benchmarking initiatives of PG&E, SCE, SDG&E and SoCalGas. The objectives of the study included to provide feedback on the appropriateness of the current and planned activities of the IOU benchmarking initiatives to meet CPUC goals and increase benchmarking among the…
